Splink, with support from Jon “Champignon” Egan (frontman and flutist from Ozric Tentacles), held an album launch gig at the Sussex Arms playing all the tracks from their new album is Kozmosis, plus a few other favourites! Great night, great gig.
Kit for gig – 5D body along with 35mm f/1.4 (should have taken my old 24 as it would have worked better in the tight space!), 50mm f/1.4 and 135mm f/2 lenses.
The Sussex Arms offers great acoustics, a good stage space, but as with many local gig venue’s, the lighting is a dramatic mix of Coloured LED’s that makes photography (or videography) hard and high contrast, so high ISO and fast lenses it is!! Accepting that the ISO stayed high, the results are quite pleasing. Matt and the band like them, so that’s all that really matters, right ?
