Yesterday saw the teams and riders from The Europe Endurance Cup, a race series for a wide range of classic motorcycles, visit Brands Hatch alongside the NoLimitsRacing National Endurance teams. This meant that there was a huge field of over 40 bikes racing on the legendary Grand Prix circuit.
My good friend Dean Skipper is racing in the series with Chris White in Team ‘Parts Europe’ on a classic Suzuki GSX-R with a powerful 1260cc Air/Oil cooled motor which looks amazing. It was a great opportunity to see him racing again and the team in action. There was a strong field with machines from a variety of era’s, and there was a nice friendly atmosphere around the paddock which makes 'club racing' so enjoyable. These 'old timers' lap times are really good too and it makes for a great day's racing. I think they're coming to Donnington in 2024, check their website for up to date info. I'm hoping to get to one of the European rounds next year, but more on that next year!
Kit used – Canon 5D mk4 plus 24-105 lens in and around the paddock and a 70-200 lens for the trackside images.
As I like to show the shutter up to 1/125th/1/160th to capture movement I also use a 2 stop ND Filter to reduce the depth of field which helps to lessen the visual damage when shooting through the catch fences.
