Some images from Brands Hatch during the final round of the 2025 season of BSB.
My Setup:
Canon R6 II + EF 100–400mm f/4.5–5.6L (via adapter) + 2-stop ND filter. The ND filter lets me drop the shutter speed down to 1/125s or slower whilst keeping the aperture around f/8–f/11 for good image quality and contrast.

How I Set Up:
Manual mode gives me control of shutter speed and lens aperture, with Auto ISO to manage the subtle changes in light. I dial in -2/3 stop of exposure compensation to protect the highlights and avoid overexposure. Burst mode is on, and I’ve swapped shutter-button focus for back-button focus. This lets me lock focus on my chosen spot and just track the rider as they come into frame.

The Shot:
I track the bike in, pan through, and fire off a short burst as they pass my spot. Slower corners 1/125s. Fast sections I bump it up to 1/200s or 1/320s.

The Result:
Sharp, dynamic panned shots that convey speed - with practice, plenty of practice!!
